Wallace was very smart and in later life successful. He was very lonely as a child. He sees a green door in a white wall when five years old. He open the door and discovers a warm friendly world with friendly animals and children to play with. Also a beautiful woman to walk with him and return him to the door. He sees the door again during his school days but doesn’t enter. He tells his story to a friend when he is in his thirties. He has seen the door three times in the past year. He said he was tired of work and saw no meaning in it. He wanted to enter the door next time he saw it. He was found dead the next day on the street.
