Synopsis:
VICIOUS CYCLE’ The Devil has been set loose on earth and it’s Johnny Blaze’s - the Ghost Rider’s - fault. Determined to atone for his careless actions, Blaze has vowed to track down Lucifer and send The Devil back to where he came from. Dr. Strange, however, has different plans - advising Ghost Rider to cease and desist, immediately. But why? And will Johnny take Dr. Strange’s advice? Here’s a hint: Has Johnny ever taken anyone’s advice?
Ghost Rider attacks Dr. Strange, believing him to be Lucifer in disguise. Strange explains that he summoned the Spirit of Vengeance to advise him to cease his involvement with Lucifer but concludes that Ghost Rider is beyond reason. In Arizona, Johnny Blaze’s abandoned motorcycle is stolen from the roadside by two ex-cons, only to transform into Ghost Rider’s bike, destroying their truck before driving away. In Oklahoma two of Lucifer’s host corpses meet up to compare murder sprees. Dr. Strange’s assault on Ghost Rider causes the Spirit of Vengeance unparalleled pain, resulting in the Spirit of Vengeance taking control from Johnny Blaze; still believing his foe is a disguised Lucifer. he ensnares Strange in chains, then gives the sorcerer a penance stare.
