Eisenhower is President, Rock n’ Roll is king. And Wade Cry-Baby Walker is the baddest boy in his high school. Wade Walker is the irresistible bad boy in his school in Baltimore, whose amazing ability to shed one single tear drives all the girls wild especially Alison Vernon-Williams, a rich, beautiful student who finds herself uncontrollably drawn to the dreamy juvenile delinquent and his forbidden world of rockabilly music, fast cars and faster women. But Alison’s boyfriend, Baldwin who is the leader of the squares, is jealous of Wade and hates the rest of the juvenile delinquents and leads a revolt against them. In the resulting riot, the juvenile delinquents are blamed for the chaos, and Cry-Baby finds himself being despatched to juvenile hall, but he is determined to cross class boundaries and get Alison back at all costs.
