Fall of Cybertron Ruination is created by combining the five Wreckers, which were only available separately as part of the fourth wave of 2012-onwards Generations Deluxe Class toys. Since the Wreckers are redecos and retools of the Generations Combaticons, who combine into Bruticus, this makes Ruination himself a redeco and retool of Bruticus. While Impactor forms the torso, the remaining team members can serve as any of the four limbs, though there are three official configurations for the other members: The instructions have Twintwist as the right arm, Roadbuster as the left arm, Autobot Whirl as the right leg, and Autobot Topspin as the left leg, while the packaging call-outs and stock photos have Twintwist as the left arm, Roadbuster as the right arm, Autobot Whirl as the left leg, and Autobot Topspin as the right leg. Finally, the little image of Ruination stickered on the Wreckers’ package bubbles is based on Bruticus’ game model, and so is shown in the Decepticon’s standard arrangement.
Additionally, Fisitron, as a redeco of Roadbuster, is intended as an alternate limb for Ruination, able to substitute for any of the other limb members, although his instructions position him as Ruination’s right leg, due to the reuse of imagery for Bruticus.
Among other tooling changes, Ruination features a new combiner head which is based on Emirate Xaaron (who was closely associated with the Wreckers in their debut story "Target: 2006”). The individual weapons the Wreckers’ inherited from the Combaticons can be combined into a "phase cannon” for Ruination to wield via 5mm post. Furthermore, the Wreckers come with new, additional weapons, all of which can be mounted onto Ruination with some creativity.
Packaging stock photography depicts Ruination’s, er, crotch with an additional 5mm peg-hole that is not present in the final product.
While it is not clear if it’s by coincidence or design, the choice of colors for the individual Wreckers (a green SUV, a white spacecraft, a blue tank, and a dark blue helicopter for the limbs, combined with the unifying use of orange across all the figures) results in an overall color scheme for Ruination that makes him fairly evocative of Robots in Disguise Ruination, who himself was a redeco of another Bruticus.
The original versions of these molds were also used to make Generation 2 Bruticus
