Synopsis:
When his partner is killed while trying to bring a vicious criminal to justice, the surviving LA cop becomes obsessed with getting revenge. The law he once swore to uphold becomes meaningless.
Look for Jane Leeves and Gary Cole in small roles.
Credited (though misspelled) theatrical movie debut of Jane Leeves (Serena/Dancer), who later starred in the TV series ”Frasier”.
Uncredited theatrical movie debut of Gary Cole (Man Chased by Richard Chance).
Jeff Bridges, Richard Gere, and Harrison Ford were considered for the role of Richard Chance, but director William Friedkin wanted an unknown actor for the role. Petersen was cast.
Gary Sinise had originally auditioned for the part of Chance. When he was denied the role, he recommended William Petersen to William Friedkin. Sinise and Petersen would later become part of TV’s CSI franchise.
At the time John Pankow was a well-respected Chicago stage actor and personally recommended for the role of John Vukovich by William Petersen.
