Thirteen year Sharkey and his people are ”Sunkers”, they are submarine dwellers who try to avoid the ”ghosts”, people who hunt and destroy all who use machines. When the last remaining Sunker mothership is destroyed, Sharkey must prove himself a true hero to help his people. Sharkey’s path crosses Petrel and her companions from the Ice Breaker and they help each against common enemies.
