Title:
Autobot Highbrow & Xort ✅
Description:
Xort & Highbrow (Deluxe Class, 2016)
Accessories: 2 Rifles
Released in the second wave of Titans Return deluxe class figures, Highbrow transforms into a futuristic twin-prop helicopter. His Titan Master partner Xort (renamed for trademark reasons) forms his head or rides in his cockpit. While it may not seem like it, Highbrow is a very extensive retool of Scourge from wave 1, leaving only the innermost torso assemblies and his upper legs. The vehicle form’s front end is swapped from the base mold to even further differentiate the molds. In an undocumented feature, the panel on Highbrow’s chest that corresponds to the flip-open Tech-Spec panel of his original toy can be opened on this toy. However, it does not appear to have any function for doing so except possibly serving as a landing skid in helicopter mode.
He includes 2 blasters which can peg under his wings in vehicle mode, and can be combined to form a larger gun which Xort can sit in. Instructions show that this combined gun is intended to plug into the side of Highbrow’s cockpit, giving a rather lopsided appearance and putting Xort at some risk of being hit in the head by one of Highbrow’s rotors. A single landing wheel is molded into each blaster, along with a rectangular pillar on the opposite side: this pillar plugs neatly into the hexagonal 5mm port on the underside of each wing. As the guns are painted, care should be taken when doing so. This undocumented feature, combined with the fold-down wheel under his cockpit, gives Highbrow a full set of landing gear. The Hasbro Asia exclusive giveaway sticker sheet can be used to enhance the figure’s details.
Highbrow also shares the same design flaw as Scourge: At least some copies of the toy have an issue with the clamp piece where Xort (or any other Titan Master) plugs in in robot mode: the connection is loose and will cause the head to flop around. Some versions of Xort also have legs that have overly loose joints, causing them to flop around rather than folding correctly when in head mode.
