Title:
Gatorface - Headmaster Class
Description:
Gatorface & Decepticon Krok (Deluxe Class, 2017)
Accessories: ”Gatorface” Titan Master, rifle, tail/blaster
Known designers: John Warden (Hasbro)
Released in the fourth wave of Titans Return Deluxes, ”Decepticon Krok” is a retool of Skullsmasher, transforming into a robotic crocodile. He comes with his Titan Master partner Gatorface, who can fit inside a compartment in Krok’s beast mode back or transform into his robot mode head (with new tooling for his face). As with other Titans Return toys, Krok can accommodate any compatible Titan Master figure; aside from the cross-compatibility with other Titan Masters in head mode, his tail separates to form a large cannon that can seat any Titan Master/Prime Master figure.
Like Skullsmasher, his crocodile head is detached in-package and must be manually attached. Also like the previous uses of this mold, his hips are relatively loose—but unlike Hasbro’s Skullsmasher, they are not excessively so. The CG mockup art included in the packaging depicts Gatorface with his legs attached backwards, though the actual toy is constructed correctly.
His Titan Master door on his beast mode back (which is made of rubbery plastic) and his chest in robot mode oddly have Movieverse styled Decepticon insignias. Krok’s teeth are also made of transparent yellow rubbery plastic. Similar to Fire Blast effects, this plastic can bond to the paint covering the lower jaw, causing it to fuse together and become difficult to open.
Hasbro officially revealed Krok alongside Quake and Topspin at Toy Fair 2017.
