Title:
Hun Gurrr (Power Of The Primes)
Description:
Terrorcon Hun-Gurrr (Voyager Class, 2018)
Japanese ID number: PP-25
Japanese release date: August 25, 2018
Accessories: 2 Prime Armor/combiner feet, Terrorcon Enigma
Part of the second wave of Power of the Primes Voyager Class figures, "Terrorcon Hun-Gurrr” transforms from robot to two-headed dragon and back. While strongly evocative of the G1 toy, his tail in robot mode has been moved from his back to his chest, causing it to protrude outward (ironically, the design of his original toy’s chest is molded underneath). He can also turn into the torso of Abominus, and can attach any Combiner Wars-style Deluxe Class figure. He also includes his Prime Armor which can hold a Prime Master (and by extension, a Titan Master, Enigma, or Matrix core). These also double as feet for Abominus. Like all the other Voyager Class figures, Hun-Gurrr includes an Enigma of Combination (dubbed the "Terrorcon Enigma”), which can attach to him via the previously mentioned Prime Armor or onto Abominus’ chest, which can also facilitate the other previously mentioned objects. Unlike other Voyagers, the Terrorcon Enigma can store in the combined mode chest in every mode and be completely hidden, although this will not work with Enigmas from other Voyager figures (excluding Inferno). Additionally, unlike the vast majority of the other Voyagers, his Prime Armor is based on the classic G1 combiner foot (though with twin blasters on each side to give him some weapons), starkly contrasting with the bestial three-toed clawed feet of the others. Due to sharing a TakaraTomy designer, Hun-Gurrr’s transformation to combined mode shares engineering with Combiner Wars Silverbolt, despite being a new mold.
Due to his transformation engineering, Hun-Gurrr features two sets of swivels per ankle, giving his robot mode extensive ankle articulation and neck articulation in dragon mode. Unfortunately these swivels tend to struggle when trying to support the weight of Hun-Gurrr’s robot mode, causing him to frequently fall over forwards or backwards.
Curiously, Hun-Gurrr’s left shoulder features a Decepticon insignia within a black border when his right shoulder features a second insignia without a border; this is allegedly an homage to his rubsign of old, which was also on his left shoulder. In stock renders and painted prototypes, the black-outlined insignia was movie-styled, but it was changed to a normal Decepticon insignia in the final release. Said stock renders and painted prototypes also had gray hips, but the final toy’s hips are white. Hun-Gurrr’s box also strangely has two of the three renders featured on the back with openly-obscured heads, covered up with white.Hun-Gurrr would later be heavily retooled into Generations Selects Turtler.
