Title:

Anya Amasova

Description:
With the 1977 release of the 10th James Bond epic, The Spy Who Loved Me, Roger Moore scored his biggest hit to date with both fans and critics. The film’s memorable characters included the beautiful Soviet agent Anya Amasova (Barbara Bach) and Jaws (Richard Kiel), the steel-toothed giant who became so popular that he made a return appearance in the next Bond film, Moonraker (1979). The film received three Oscar nominations: for Ken Adam’s sets, Marvin Hamlisch’s musical score, and the title song “Nobody Does It Better.” For the climactic battle sequence, the largest soundstage ever created was built at Pinewood Studios in England. Twenty years later, the 18th James Bond film, Tomorrow Never Dies, also shot sequences there. The stage has appropriately been named after legendary Bond producer Cubby Broccoli, who was as important to 007’s cinematic success as Ian Fleming was to his literary popularity.
