Fortress Maximus was the collectible "build-a-figure” from the third Headmasters-centric "Act” of Takara’s line of Super Collection Figure PVC figurines. He was divided into six parts, each one packaged with one of the other six figurines in the line: His head and sword came with Raiden, his torso with Bumblebee and Spike, his left arm with Chromedome, his right arm with Soundwave, his left leg with Ironhide and his right leg with Sixshot.
As the first collectible figure from the line, Fortress Maximus was much rarer than those that would come later, with his parts only coming in two out of every ten cases. Like all the other figures in the wave, his parts were available in two color schemes; of the two cases he was available in, one contained a full-color figure, while the other contained a colorless translucent version.
This mold would be lightly retooled to make Super Collection Figure Grand Maximus.
