An all new mold, this version of Bumblebee is smaller than his previous Leader-sized incarnations and, technically, is his first Leader-class toy. Along with the update to his Dark of the Moon form, this is also the first toy to feature a (sculpted) "900 STRA” license plate (the one used for the prop cars for all three movies). Being different in proportions to his other toys, this Bumblebee seems to have inspired his later "Nitro Bumblebee” toy, having a much bulkier torso and smaller arms, with the entire hood pieces being deformed into his chest.
The main gimmick is that he comes with a massive MechTech backpack, which hooks onto his back window/back, and is the sole electronic component of the toy. It resembles a jet-pack, and features missile pods and a cannon, all of which emit lights and sounds when pressed, and can be positioned for either robot or vehicle mode. Pressing the missile pod housings will emit orange lights and play the sound of a barrage of missiles being launched while pressing the cannon will prop up a targeting sight, emit green lights, and play the sound of the cannon deploying/charging and firing a powerful-sounding blast. The weapons can be deployed/retracted when the brown panel on the top-left of the backpack is slid, making the transformation noise in the process (with an additional mechanical impact sound after deploying). There are a total of five MechTech ports and four C joint bars on the backpack, with a port and bar on each missile pod, a port on the side of the cannon barrel, a port on the sliding panel, a port on the top-center of the backpack, and a bar on top of each battery compartment.
Bumblebee can also transform into his Stealth Force attack vehicle mode, wherein his hood portions split forward and open, his doors open and hinge up, his robot arms swing out from the sides to aim, his plasma cannon extends, and his backpack is attached and deployed, with dedicated pegs to help secure his doors, arms, and shoulders. Finally, like a few other Bumblebee toys, he also features a flip-down battle mask.
Unfortunately, while Bumblebee has rotational leg articulation, they’re below the knees, limiting their usefulness. Even more unfortunately, while he’s perfectly stable on his own, plugging in his backpack in robot mode will make him very back-heavy, resulting in significant balance issues and limitation of poseability due to his ratchet joints not being strong enough to handle the additional weight on one side. Posing him to lean forwards or posing his legs further to his back may remedy this.
His secondary stock photos are slightly mistransformed: his shoulder collars are not folded out. Ironically; this mistranformation also allows the head to move slightly freely.
