Combiner Wars "Protectobot Streetwise” (yes, he got his name back) is an extensive retool of Dead End (basically a complete reshell that only retains the robot mode torso and some other minor parts) that transforms into an R35 Nissan GTR police car, which is a very, very sleek police car. Instead of the muffler/beatstick, Streetwise comes with a shotgun with three barrels. Unlike the other Deluxe Protectobots, who are molded in a crisp white, Streetwise is molded in a more cream-colored plastic. He can form a limb for any Combiner Wars-style Voyager Class torso, but is supposed to combine with Hot Spot, First Aid, Blades, and new member Rook to form Defensor (with Groove now serving as a chest piece). Care needs to be taken when transforming to and from leg mode, as the hinge that folds the hood back may be extremely stiff and the thin tab that connects the hood with the rest of the figure may break if too much force is placed on it. Care should also be taken not to lose the swinging combined hinge on his leg, which tends to be looser than that of Dead End and likes to pop off.
This version of the mold was retooled into Prowl and Smokescreen.
The version of Streetwise released in the United States, Australia, and Hasbro’s Asian markets comes with a copy of Combiner Wars #9 (actually The Transformers #33). In Canada, Latin America, and Europe, the toy includes a collector card featuring artwork from the "False Alarm” episode of the Transformers Legends mobile game instead.
As a part of the third and fourth wave promotion in Hasbro’s Asian markets, a free sticker sheet for the Protectobots and Optimus Maximus was given out when purchasing any four Deluxe Class toys from those waves. As such, Streetwise was given Generation 1 toy-esque stickers for the owner to apply if they wanted.
