Mechatron is a roughly-Deluxe-level chariot-style vehicle with a twin spring-loaded missile launcher in its mouth. Pushing down on the top of the dragon’s muzzle activates a gear-motor that propels the chariot forward once released. A pair of claws can be swung forward to each side of its gaping maw; once locked in place, the gear-drive mechanism also spins the clawed arms in a drill-like fashion. The very back of the dragon’s head has a flip-up (non-firing) double blaster and geared claw; the claw is used primarily to secure a rider on the platform (most Basic-class figures fit nicely), but can also be used to simulate a spark extractor.
Mechatron was initially available in red and blue, colors very similar to his master Megatron.
