Title:
Armorhide with Rhinox
Description:
Rhinox with Armorhide (Super-Con, 2003)
Takara release date: June ??, 2003
Available only with his larger partner Armada Rhinox, Armorhide is a redeco of the Adventure Mini-Con Team member Iceberg, transforming into a tracked snow groomer with a serrated plow and movable crane-arm. As a Mini-Con, he has a "Powerlinx” socket on his vehicle-mode underside (which ends up on his robot-mode butt) which allows him to attach to any toy with a "Powerlinx” style 5 mm post; some toys have special Powerlinx posts that activate/unlock gimmicks when a Mini-Con is attached.
A gear-wheel mechanism on his vehicle-mode underside makes the outer sections of his plow scissor inward slightly when he is rolled along a smooth surface. This feature can also be activated by attaching him to the gear-wheel mechanism on the underside of the Armada Cyclonus mold.
As a hasty addition to the Armada toyline to meet demand, Rhinox was not available in Takara’s normal retail Legend of the Microns line. He was, however, offered in Japan as a "USA Edition” release, exclusive to JUSCO stores.
This mold was also used to make Scattorbrain and Spoil.
