Title:
Speed Dial 800 Real Gear
Description:
Speed Dial 800 (Real Gear Robots, 2007)
TakaraTomy ID number: MA-07
Part of the first wave of Transformers Real Gear Robots, Speed Dial 800 transforms into a (non-functional) cellular phone with a flip-up screen/button cover. The phone-mode camera lens becomes his big honkin’ singular optic in robot mode. Like all Real Gear Robots toys, his robot mode is roughly at 1:1 scale. There are sticker differences between the Hasbro and Takara releases of this toy. On the Hasbro version, the two "screen” stickers have the time "7:47pm” on them, as in "July 4th, 2007”, the date the live-action movie was originally slated to hit theaters. The Takara version replaces those stickers with similar-but-different ones, this time using the "movie” style Autobot symbol and showing the time "8:04pm”; if this is a similar code for August 8th, it’s uncertain what that’s referring to.This mold was also used to make Wire Tap V20 and Highline 1070.
