Part of the 2010 McDonald’s Revenge of the Fallen promotion, Optimus does not transform but has a few gimmicks to make up for it. On his right arm he is armed with both a flip-out sword and his blaster. Turning the switch on the underside of the gun from off to on will then allow the red button top to light up a red LED. Optimus is articulated at shoulders and hips, and features pale blue light piping. He was only available during week 1 of the promotion, and came with an instruction sheet that doubles as an ad for McWorld, featuring an exclusive code for the website.
It is very likely that should the battery in Optimus’s light up gimmick die, replacing it would be exceedingly difficult due to the unique style of screw McDonald’s uses for its free toys.
