Part of the third wave of Power Core Combiners Commander Class figures, Beacon is a redeco of Backwind, transforming from a small robot into a double-armed cannon/winch (amusingly with a slightly different configuration than Backwind), a hand-held blaster, and chest armor for compatible Power Core Combiner super robot forms. He comes packaged with his larger partner Steelshot, who lacks the chest-mounted Powerlinx plug needed for Beacon’s chest armor mode, so he plugs onto Steelshot’s back/gun turret.
Due to the fact that he has a screwhole in his chest instead of the standard Powerlinx port, Beacon is capable of pegging onto any 5 mm post. However, he is incapable of activating any Powerlinx gimmicks on previous Powerlinx compatible toys.
His arms have a tendency to develop stress marks and eventually break. Care should be taken when converting Beacon into any of his modes, which all require extensive use of his arms.
This mold was also used to United Caliburst and Firebug.
