Part of the first wave of "Fox Kids” redecoes (so called because of the callout on the package to the Fox Kids programming block where the cartoon had recently moved), this version of Dinobot is more dark brown than the original, with red stripes instead of the original’s brown, with a red robot mode face and green eyes. This toy uses the retooled mold with the shoulder ratchets and the (unused) "energon chip” space that were created for Beast Wars Grimlock.
Hasbro solicitations named this toy "Live Wire Dinobot”, but the name never made it to final packaging.
