Transformers Generations Selects Abominus Terrorcons 5-pack (TT-GS05)

Description:
Abominus (April 17, 2021)
Hasbro ID number: TT-GS05

Accessories: Individual Terrorcon weapons, Gestalt hands, Gestalt feet, Terrorbreaster

Generations Selects Abominus is a redeco of Power of the Primes Abominus with a couple of new accessories. As you might expect, this version of Abominus features a much more cartoon-accurate coloration: the head is purple with a white face, Abominus’ upper legs (formed from the backs of Hun-Gurrr’s arms) are grayish-white as opposed to dark gray, stickers adorning Hun-Gurrr from the Power of the Primes release are gone, and the Terrorcon limbs have more saturated plastic colors. TakaraTomy also went the extra mile to create the hilariously named Terrorbreaster piece which appears to fit on Abominus’ chest, making it more closely resemble the animation model. Abominus also features new foot and hand pieces cast in uniform magenta, which are mostly recolored from TakaraTomy’s Selects Seacons, with the exception of the new detachable toe pieces and the new small cannons for Hun-Gurrr that double as heel stabilizers for Abominus. Unfortunately, the dragon-head knees are still absent.

Additionally, Abominus has a new rifle that is also recolored from TakaraTomy’s Selects Turtler and decked out with a plethora of 5 mm ports, allowing for the smaller Terrorcons’ guns to be attached to it and form a slightly bigger weapon.

Generations Selects Sinnertwin is a cartoon-accurate redeco of his Power of the Primes release, featuring numerous minor changes to his color scheme. Sinnertwin features much brighter shades of yellow and greenish-blue used for his main plastic colors. His combiner peg and crotch have been changed from greenish-blue to yellow, the weird silver marking on the side of his arm has been changed to gold, and the purple spots on his robot chest have been made turquoise. Sinnertwin’s yellow robot mode eyes have also been changed to the classic red Decepticon eyes.

Generations Selects ”Butto” is a cartoon-accurate redeco of his Power of the Primes release. He features a lighter shade of purple plastic, and numerous different paint applications, mostly consisting of removing the silver paint on his chest and legs and adding red accents on his ”nipples”. Minor deco changes include two Decepticon insignias on his shoulders, silver spots on the sides of his stomach, as well as blue accents on his knees and crotch.

Generations Selects Rippersnapper is a cartoon-accurate redeco of his Power of the Primes release. The biggest deco differences this toy has from the prior coloration are the silver border on his chest sigil, his combiner peg changed from blue to off-white, off-white markings added to his arms, and a darker shade of blue plastic used in his toy mold. Additionally, the red spot on his robot chest has been omitted, blue accents have been added to the sides of his robot crotch, and the accents on his robot knees have been changed from red to black.

Additionally, Rippersnapper’s combiner peghole has been slightly retooled to fix the fragility and breakage issues from the Power of the Primes release.

Generations Selects Cutthroat is a cartoon-accurate redeco of his Power of the Primes release. He features a more saturated color palette than his previous toy, as well as changing a single Decepticon sigil on his beast mode’s nose to two insignias on either sides of his chest. His most significant deco differences are having the purple crest sticking out of his beast mode’s head redecoed in yellow, as well as gold paint instead of silver used for his robot mode’s face. Other minor deco differences include silver paint removed from his robot legs and the sides of his chest, and green paint added to his robot arms.

Generations Selects Hun-Gurrr is a redeco and retool of his Power of the Primes release with several new accessories. Hun-Gurrr comes with the new Terrorbreaster piece—that’s actually what it’s called—which he can hold as a shield in robot mode, attach to the top of his dragon mode, or form Abominus’ upper chestplate when combining with his henchmen. In turn, the original chest piece from the PotP release has been removed. Hun-Gurrr also comes with the rifle originally packed with Selects Turtler, in reference to his original toy’s sonic stun-gun (hopefully he won’t feel tempted to eat it). He also has two extra blasters which can be attached to the rifle.

Hun-Gurrr by far has the most deco alterations out of all the Selects Terrorcons. The stickers on the sides of his dragon mode necks are gone, the Decepticon stickers on his shoulders are gone, the backs of his robot mode arms are changed to off-white so Abominus’s upper legs remain cartoon-accurate, and his face is white with a red visor to reference his cartoon appearance. Two Decepticon insignias are added to his chest to replace the removed stickers from his shoulders. Minor deco changes include adding gray accents to his robot mode chest, and removing the blue and purple trinkets on his robot mode shoulders and his dragon mode necks respectively.

Originally slated for release on March 27, Hun-Gurrr’s release was pushed back to April 17.
