When the Super Collection Figure series was imported to become Hasbro’s Heroes of Cybertron line, the figures were all cast entirely in translucent colored plastic, then painted over, save for the eyes and a small patch on the back of their heads, giving them all a light-piping gimmick. Unlike the Japanese figures, they were sold in individual blister packaging, with character profile cards.
Released in the first wave of Heroes of Cybertron, Starscream has a number of small but significant color differences from his initial Super Collection Figure release (see above). The white has been replaced with a light gray, his face is now medium-gray, his "pec vents” are the same dark gray as his other detailing rather than black, a white stripe has been added to his wing deco (as opposed to unpainted white plastic), the Decepticon symbols are purple rather than the odd blue of the SCF, and the connector points for the wings are light gray rather than torso-matching red. The end result is a figurine that is significantly more accurate to the original animation model than the SCF version.
