Part of the sevententh wave of Studio Series Deluxe Class toys, Bumblebee is now based on his Dark of the Moon appearance. He’s a slight retool of the 2007 movie version of the mold, featuring a remolded chest, bumper, and spoiler, and an unmasked head in robot mode. The paintjob is also changed to look more accurate to how he is depicted in the movie. He comes with the Stinger Blaster, which continues to have the same properties as the previous iterations of the mold (i.e. being handheld and storing in the rear of the vehicle).
Like the other Studio Series toys, the interior of the package forms a display backdrop, depicting Bumblebee’s escape from Soundwave’s execution in the Battle of Chicago.
Bumblebee and his wavemates were revealed on May 10, 2022, with preorders coming up the same day. Unusually for a modern Generations release, Bumblebee was revealed by TakaraTomy before Hasbro, which usually unveils upcoming toys before or simultaneously with TakaraTomy.
