Released to commemorate the 35th anniversary of The Transformers: The Movie, Studio Series Perceptor faithfully recreates his character model from the Generation 1 cartoon, and also features the tank tread legs from his original toy. Perceptor transforms into a microscope or his goofy tank/mortar cannon mode. He comes with a modestly-sized blaster which can be carried in robot mode or pegged into the side of his microscope mode.
The pearl-white paint on Perceptor’s chest window, which is molded entirely in translucent plastic, is easily prone to scuffing even before the figure has been removed from the box. Due to its crane construction, his shoulder cannon/microscope often sits at an angle rather than flat on his shoulder.
Like the other Studio Series toys, the interior of the package forms a display backdrop, depicting the Battle of Autobot City in Perceptor’s case.
