Title:
Slammer
Description:
Autobot Slammer (Deluxe Class, 2021)
Hasbro ID number: WFC-K33
TakaraTomy ID number: KD EX-14
TakaraTomy release date: June 25, 2022
Accessories: Tank gun
Part of the final wave of War for Cybertron: Kingdom Deluxe Class toys, "Autobot Slammer” is a Siege-esque "Weaponizer” that’s a heavy partial retool of Earthrise Ironworks[2] that can split apart into weapons usable via the C.O.M.B.A.T. System, as well as transforming into a tank in 20 steps. His parts can also connect to the various 5 mm holes on his partner, Thrilling 30 Metroplex, and can even be used to form a battle tower on Metroplex, sadly not depicted in Hasbro’s toy stock photos.
As a Weaponizer, he can also be taken apart and converted into weapons and armor that can be attached to other figures that use the C.O.M.B.A.T. System (or, really, any 5 mm post-compatible toys). The back of the box shows several weapons attached to the concurrently-released Autobot Pipes, showcasing 2 back-mounted multiple missile pods, an arm cannon, and a tread-chainsaw. Metal as hell!
The back of his box erroneously colors his thighs white when the side art and the toy itself gives him black thighs. The small part used to attach the tank turret to the arms in tank mode is also reported to be extremely loose, with virtually no tension working to hold the part in place.
Slammer was officially revealed via a preorder listing page at BigBadToyStore and Entertainment Earth in late September 2021, with no public announcement from Hasbro.
Though Slammer’s wave was scheduled for a first quarter 2022 release, they actually arrived on U.S. store shelves in December 2021.
In Japan, Slammer was released as a TakaraTomy Mall exclusive.
