Title:
Megatron, Combat
Description:
Combat Megatron (Voyager Class, 2019)
Series: War for Cybertron: Siege
ID number: WFC-GS01
Accessories: "D50-R35 Fusion Cannon,” "HPR Telescopic Laserstrike Launcher” (combines to form "NFM Particle Beam Megalauncher”)
"Combat Megatron”, a Generations Selects add-on to Siege, is a redeco and new head retool of the above Voyager Class mold in the arctic camouflage deco of the unreleased Generation 2 Combat Hero figure. His new head tooling is seemingly based on the previous Legends Class Timelines figure, which was a redeco of a toy based on his IDW pre-war miner design as debuted in Megatron Origin.
Announced at New York Toy Fair 2019, this Megatron was an exclusive debuted at the regular Voyager price through the Hasbro Pulse website in the U.S. market. Combat Megatron comes in a mostly plain cardboard box with black spray-paint deco in the form of a drippy Autobot symbol, "WAR” spelled out in Cybertronian, and the "War for Cybertron Trilogy” nameplate. While the instructions replaced the ID number and Megatron’s name with "Combat Megatron”, the CGI renders still depict the original head. Also included is a thank you letter from Hasbro’s John Warden.
Despite being the third Generations Selects figure to be announced, Combat Megatron came out ahead of Ricochet and Red Swoop.
This toy was repurposed as White Megatron in Generations Selects Special Comic.
