Part of the 16th wave of Studio Series Deluxe Class toys, Ironhide is a retool of Bumblebee Autobot Ratchet, transforming into a boxy red Cybertronian truck (with yellow accents in the style of the G1 version’s vehicle mode). Ironhide comes with the same blaster accessory as Ratchet, which can be stored on top of his truck mode or on his back in robot mode. As with the majority of Bumblebee characters in the Studio Series toyline, his alternate mode was created by Hasbro and TakaraTomy for the toy. Ironhide features 5mm compatible feet like many other contemporary Deluxe Class figures.
Most copies of Ironhide are reported to have incredibly loose joints, much moreso than his mold source Ratchet, which makes maintaining dynamic poses a challenge for him. Strangely, his left forearm is missing the rectangular silver paint application found on the identical relief on his right forearm.
Like all other Studio Series toys, the interior of the package forms a display backdrop. As with most Bumblebee Studio Series figures, this backdrop depicts a war-torn Cybertron as it appears at the beginning of the film.
