Cybertron Universe Override (Voyager Class, 2022)

Part of the first wave of the Velocitron Speedia 500 Collection subline of 2022’s Transformers: Legacy series, this iteration of Override once again transforms into a Velocitronian racecar, with both modes being incredibly faithful to the original animated series CG model. Her deco is largely an amalgamation of previous Takara and Hasbro Cybertron versions, with the only outside change being that her reds and golds are much more saturated this time around. She is no longer an auto-converting figure, which makes both of her modes hold together much better. Due to following the CG model, her proportions are much less bulky while her gun gets far more imposing, as well as adding the very welcome addition of long heel-spurs in robot mode to keep her upright. In addition, she has 5 mm post holes on her back, the soles of her feet, forearms, lower legs, and the backs of her shoulders, making her compatible with the many modular armor and weapons figures that have come out in the prior years. She is somewhat small for a Voyager, but definitely bigger than the average contemporaneous Deluxe.
She once again comes with a blaster made out of her vehicle-mode engine, though this time the flip-out barrels are manually "activated”. This blaster has a pair of undocumented features: it has a Cyber Key-compatible slot in the back end, plus the tips of the barrels are compatible with the "Fire Blast effects” that came with other toys.
Designer Mark Maher originally envisioned this toy as a heavy retooling of Studio Series Hot Rod, but TakaraTomy’s engineering team were able to figure out a way to budget an entirely new mold set for her by using a grand total of four mold-sprues rather than the usual twelve the average Voyager Class toy uses.[1]
Override’s white-backdrop stock photos cut out her left arm entirely, presumably due to a photoshop error. Ouch.
The Velocitron Speedia 500 Collection was exclusive to Walmart in the US, with Hasbro Pulse receiving limited quantities of the figure. The series went up for pre-order on July 21st 2022, and started arriving in stores by August 1st. Override and her fellow wave-1 Voyager Road Hauler each shipped in solid individual cases of six toys each, rather than the usual split cases.
