Part of the first wave of Armada Super-Con (aka "Deluxe”) toys, Cyclonus transforms into a Cybertronian flat-nosed assault helicopter. His primary gimmick is a trigger-activated gear assembly that runs through the length of the vehicle mode; pulling the trigger both spins the rotor blade and a gear system in the cockpit area. Attaching a compatible geared Mini-Con to the square frame on the underside of his cockpit (any Destruction Mini-Con Team, Adventure Mini-Con Team, or Refute mold) allows the gear system to activate their gear-wheel gimmicks as well by pulling the trigger. On top of that, flipping up his cockpit reveals a unique attachment point for his included Mini-Con partner Crumplezone in his long-nosed "cockpit” form; once attached pulling to rotor trigger also makes Crumplezone’s under-slung cannon move back and forth. That’s three different action features from just one trigger!Cyclonus also has more conventional Mini-Con Powerlinx gimmicks: plugging a Mini-Con into the hardpoints on either of his arms/wing-mounted weapon pods launches a spring-loaded missile, while attaching a Mini-Con to the plugs on either side of his legs will make a spring-loaded (non-firing) cannon pop up from his shins. His booster tail piece can be detached and slid into his right wrist sculpted twin cannons for a hand blaster but cannot do the same on his left arm. Additionally, his rotor blade is detachable and can be mounted onto any of his Powerlinx plugs, although this will not activate any gimmicks. The tips of his rotor blades differ in shape from those in the toy’s original promotional images, which featured rounder, more cyclindrical edges. The Takara Legend of the Microns release of "Sandstorm” has some slight color differences from the Hasbro version, the most immediately-noticeable being a "separated” painted Decepticon sigil, and a much brighter white plastic. This mold was also used to make Cybertron Buzzsaw.
