Title:

Ravage, Combat

Description:
Command Ravage (Energon Class, 2004)

Takara ID number: SD-09

Takara release date: March 18, 2004

Accessories: "Leopard Cannon” spring-loaded missile launcher, "Night Eyes” cannon, "Tail Crush” tail/flail, missile, Decepticon energon chip

First released in the third wave of Takara’s Super Link line as the "Command Jaguar Limited Desert Type”, Command Ravage is a redeco of the Battle Ravage toy (using the later retool of the mold, with the locking peg/hole in the torso assembly), transforming into a robotic predatory cat. Moving his outer chest during transformation automatically swings his arms and beast-mode head into the proper positions. His beast mode tail can also detach to become a hand-held flail weapon, the ball-joint having a 5 mm diameter.
He comes with a pair of clear-plastic "energon” cannons: one that fires a spring-loaded missile, the other a non-firing accessory that greatly resembles the fusion cannon used by Generation 1 Megatron. The non-firing cannon has a Mini-Con-style Powerlinx port, letting it activate Armada-mold Powerlinx gimmicks. These two pieces can be combined to form the "Energy Rifle” ultimate energon weapon. He also comes with a clear-plastic "energon chip” which can be attached to pretty much every new-mold Energon toy’s spark crystal.
Though it was part of the normal wide-release Super Link retail line, it had a much smaller run than the previous regular "Command Jaguar”. It comes on a regular Command Ravage card with the normal-release paperwork, but with silver-foil stickers over the ID number portions of the card and a new cardboard bubble insert, giving it the new name and number.
This toy was later released in the fifth wave of Hasbro’s Energon toyline "Energon Class” toys (basically "Basics”). This version is mostly identical to the Takara release, except the peachy-tan accent paint has been replaced with a metallic bronze/gold. And, of course, it was released in much greater numbers.
