Title:
Overcast With Deepdive And Longarm Robot Mode
Description:
Giant Planet Mini-Con Team (Scout-class, 2006)
Accessories: 2 missiles
Overcast transforms into a modified Martin P6M SeaMaster flying boat bomber. He has pressure-launch missile launchers under both wings which become his robot-mode arms; presumably the "claws” holding the missiles in place are his actual "hands”. As a Mini-Con, he can attach to larger bots that have compatible Powerlinx plugs.
In an undocumented feature, as shown to the right, his chest piece can be repositioned to sit flush with his body. The instructions and stock images otherwise have Overcast’s chest resting against his crotch. Meanwhile, the joint connecting this piece to his body is gray in stock images, compared to the final product’s purple.
He was only available in a three-pack with his teammates Deepdive and Longarm, sold in the eighth wave of Cybertron Scout-class toys. This set also happens to be the final new mold-set released in the Scout assortment, and is one of several Cybertron Scout molds not sold in the Takara Galaxy Force version of the line.
This mold was also used to make Astro-Line and the 2010 Transformers line’s Airlift. The hypothetical Blue Max would’ve used this mold, but there’s no evidence that figure was ever intended for release in the first place.
