Universe Decepticon Drag Strip is a redeco of Classics Mirage. He transforms into a closed-canopy Formula racer concept car. The front "wing” of the car mode detaches to become a handheld weapon. In spite of having clear red plastic in his light piping segment, Drag Strip’s light piping gimmick was neutered... with red paint.
Drag Strip suffers from sticky paint around the red cockpit similar to the sticky paint found on most Universe Prowls.
Like the other "Special Edition” figures, Drag Strip comes in a black book box-style packaging with monochrome art. Though initially an Asian/Australian-market exclusive, Drag Strip was made available for purchase in the United States via Hasbro Toy Shop and, bizarrely, at Marshalls stores.
This mold was also used to make the 2007 movie toyline’s Fracture, BotCon 2007’s Hologram Mirage and BotCon 2013’s Machine Wars Mirage.
