While Arctic B.A.T.s have proven impervious to extreme cold, their extreme weight frequently sent them crashing through icy surfaces during field-testing. The added chainsaw feature allows Arctic B.A.T.s to break through the ice at the shoreline after lumbering along the bottom of a lake bed or the ocean floor, or to cut themselves free should they freeze in place.
