The second Voyager released as part of the Studio Series Gamer Edition subline, "Gamer Edition Megatron” is based on his appearance in the War for Cybertron video game, transforming into a Cybertronian tank in 21 steps. He went up for preorder on smaller online retailers before being announced. Like the other Studio Series Gamer Edition figures, Megatron’s right forearm can detach and swap out for any other Gamer Edition blaster accessory.
Megatron’s knees suffer from a baffling design choice that restricts his knee articulation to a scant 20 degrees. There are large tabs on the backs of the knees, unused in either mode, that mostly block off the articulation for no clear reason. Cutting the tabs off to create proper knee joint clearance does not negatively effect the figure in any way.
