Title:
Hun-Gurr
Description:
• GEN169
• Hun-Gurrr (Terrorcon, 1987)
• Team ID number: TR5
• Takara ID number: D-79
• Accessories: ”Sonic Stun Gun”, Abominus head, Abominus chest shield, left & right Abominus fists, left & right Abominus feet
Released in the fourth year of Hasbro’s US The Transformers toyline (third year in Europe and in Takara’s Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers line), Terrorcon Hun-Gurrr transforms into a quadrupedal two-headed dragon (specifically an ”Algean two-headed razor beast”, if the biography of his Shattered Glass counterpart is to be believed). He has quite a lot of articulation for an original-series toy in this mode, located mostly in the beast mode necks/robot legs, and this extends to his robot mode, with multiple points in his arms and legs and even his head, which rotates for transformation.
Hun-Gurrr combines with his fellow Terrorcons to form Abominus, serving as the super-robot’s torso. He can also combine with any other Transformers that use the ”Scramble City”-style connection system. This system also allows you to plug Abominus’s chestplate into the connection sockets in Hun-Gurrr’s shoulders, forming a gigantic shield.
There is a later-run variant of Hun-Gurrr, released in 1988, which not only lacks a rubsign, but has been retooled to fill in the indent on his bicep/hindleg where the rubsign would have gone.
