The halls of the Death Star were engulfed in the exchange of blaster fire as Imperial stormtroopers were attempting to stop a small band of Rebels from escaping with prisoner Princess Leia Organa. Han Solo, the Corellian-born pilot and smuggler who was the unofficial leader of this group, saw their situation growing more unfavorable every second. Imperial forces had them outmanned as well as outgunned, and the chances of escaping from the space station were slim. The situation became apparently worse when Ben Kenobi was struck down by Darth Vader’s crimson lightsaber. But this tragic loss distracted the enemy long enough for Han to escort Leia, Luke, C-3PO, R2-D2, and Chewbacca aboard the Millennium Falcon. If Ben was successful in disabling the station’s tractor beam, the daring pilot would have a chance of successfully escaping the Death Star with no further casualties.
