Accessories: Rotor blade wheel, ”Police Chase” backdrop

Released in wave 5 of Studio Series Deluxe class figures, Barricade is based off his appearance in the first Transformers film and transforms into a licensed Saleen S281 Police Cruiser. He includes a rotor blade wheel accessory based off what he uses in the film and a cardboard backdrop display depicting the encounter with Bumblebee. Barricade features articulated hands that can open and close like his Dark of the Moon Mechtech Deluxe, but unlike the previous toy he features a more stable 5 mm hand as his fingers are able to lock together when closed. His rotor blade wheel, front grill, head & his fake ”wing” kibble is molded in soft plastic. Unfortunately, due to size and mold limitations, the headlight covers of his vehicle mode are molded in one piece with his front fenders, rendering them non-transparent black and concealing his actual headlights. Aspiring customizers could carefully cut said pieces out with a knife and glue transparent pieces in their place, which will allow the headlights to show through them correctly or simply leave the headlight exposed.

Make sure the fingers are evenly swung back against the rear windows/forearm panels until it clicks, so the rear trunk can clip in securely in vehicle mode. Also make sure that the arms are fully tabbed into the hips in vehicle mode - this is easier if one pegs the arms into place on the legs before moving the car roof into position, unlike the instructions which suggest the opposite.

His bio on the back of his box also amusingly misspells Sam’s eBay username as ”Ladysman217”. Both the TakaraTomy and Hasbro stock photos are mistransformed; the roof panel on his back should swivel into the rest of the backpack, rather than hanging past the hips. One even shows his car doors (which become his upper arms) remaining in the vehicle mode position, instead of being pushed up, thus making his arms long enough to scratch his feet.

The toy’s rear packaging features a QR code for the ”Chance To Win A FORD” sweepstakes contest, which allows the customers to participate in the contest by scanning the code (if this doesn’t work, you can type the 2 codes to https://www.vmp.mobi/ford/ ).
