EXCEPTIONAL OAK CASKS contribute at least 80% of the character of The Macallan, with the spirit and sherry seasoning fulfilling the remaining 15% and 5% respectively. Each cask style imparts a specific influence. as does the variety of cask sizes
- a combination of puncheons, hogsheads and butts. Beyond type and size, every single cask has its own distinct provenance. as each is made by a cooper with his own personal approach to crafting and seasoning
