Description:
First fill ex-bourbon hogshead. 1/258 bottles. The nose had mango, banana, melon, raspberry jam tarts, pineapple juice, and honey – behind that, dried flowers and basketry, oak sawdust, coconut and leather. The palate was similar – we got brown sugar, raspberry, cherry, and Nutella up front, but also spicy heat (chilli jam, Big Red gum, tingly clove); eucalyptus, leather and tobacco. The reduced nose – Morello cherries, chocolate brownies, tinned fruit salad and lemon sorbet; then ginger beer, perfumed wood, leather and sweat lodge incense. The reduced palate had Edinburgh Rock, coffee kisses, bourbon biscuits and homemade lemonade, with white pepper, ginger snaps and charred oak on the finish.
