This heavily peated single malt from Kilkerran was distilled at the Glengyle distillery in Campbeltown. A highly popular expression that is aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, it offers classic Campbeltown characteristics with robust and rich notes of brine and fruits. This edition also offers flavours of smoky peat, freshly baked bramble apple pie and sweet salted caramel, with a creamy long finish.
Nose:
The nose is slightly mineral, with peat smoke apparent from the outset and a malty, cereal note.
Palate:
Orchard fruits, apple blossom, and poached pear notes emerge, and the peat smoke becomes more prominent on the palate in notes of campfire embers.
Finish:
A long, sweet finish concludes this heavily peated dram.
