We’ve talked about this in the past. There are contract distilled whiskies I classify as ”craft distilled”. This is the category that blurs the line of Distiller vs. Blender. There’s no better example of that than Old Dominick. Old Dominick started laying down barrel in 2013. There was a barrel shortage at the time. Thankfully, they had a knowledge of the Timber industry. They sent lumber from family land in Tennessee to construct their first bourbon barrels. At the same time, they worked closely with MGP to develop their own mash bills and whiskey profiles. That’s how we ended up with these Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskeys that are 52% corn, 44% rye, and 4% Malted Barley. With a high rye recipe like that, you’re bound to find some unique flavors perfect for this time of year that you won’t find anywhere else.
#1594 - 118.20 proof
