Tuesday February 13, 2024 drove from Rambler’s Rest to Everglades City. On the way we drove through Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park. We saw birds, alligators and a big turtle. Was a very enjoyable drive. Susan D. Melodye, Nell and myself stayed the night at Ivey House Hotel. Cute small hotel, we stayed in a 2 bedroom suite.
Dinner at Triad Seafood Market & Cafe outside on the Barron River. I had delicious blackened shrimp. Wednesday morning had brunch at Havanna Cafe on Chokoloskee Island. Very fun gay owned establishment. Ate outside with the birds, chickens and roosters. Man playing guitar and singing. I had Mojo pork for first time, delicious. Nell had a cuban sandwich. After brunch Nell and I drove to Avon Park to visit with Greta and Julie from February 14-19.
