Around the globe, an eagle’s wings symbolize opportunity - the opportunity to continue reaching higher. For many, this inspires their personal pursuit of greatness, but for those of us at Buffalo Trace Distillery, it’s a reminder to never settle in our pursuit of the perfect bourbon.
This exceptionally rare whiskey defies the very limits of typical American Whiskey aging. It rested gracefully for 25 years, including time in Warehouse P, a purpose-built, state-of-the-art experimental warehouse on the Buffalo Trace Distillery site. This is far beyond the age limits Kentucky’s natural climate allows and beyond the point at which the angels have typically extracted their full share. It was bottled upon reaching its silver anniversary in the barrel, symbolized by the custom sterling silver wing that was hand-hammered to perfectly encase each hand-blown crystal decanter. Opening the custom display box reveals an eagle’s outstretched wings framing the 101-proof bourbon, which also contains a unique crystal eagle inside the bottle. This dramatic presentation is befitting the exceptional nature of this rare, first-of-its-kind bottling.
