Title:
Phillipines Charleston Scott
Description:
From the Blancos Art Museum in the Philippines
eBay description:
A hand made ventriloquist dummy from the Philippines, not sure how old but he’s at least 100 years old. He has mohair attached wig, big glass eyes, a working jaw, carved teeth and tongue. He’s made of hardwood and galvanized sheet metal. Some of the wood is really old and oxidized - his upper arms look like broomstick. It looks like he has had old repairs over the years , possibly joints and maybe lower arms and legs. I replaced the rubber band that allows mouth to open and close. Works fine now by pulling lever on his neck. He was found stored in a trunk at an estate sale and is in VG original condition. The index finger on his right hand is broken at the first knuckle. Also, obviously, he has paint splits on his old face, just the paint. He’s big, about 37” tall by 12” wide at his shoulders. His shoes are carved & painted, the bottoms say ” Blanco’s Art Shop, Angono , Rizal”. Please see all photos as they are an important part of my description.
