Title:
Red Sox 2004 World Champs!
Description:
On October 27, 2004, the Red Sox broke the “Curse of the Bambino” by winning their first World Series since 1918 by sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals. Your mom surprised me with a ticket to Game 1 on October 23, a whirlwind trip from Santa Monica to Boston and back in 24 hours (Caleb was only three weeks only, and I remain convinced it was his birth that broke the curse). The Red Sox won 11 to 9 with Tim Wakefield as the starter and David Ortiz scoring 4 RBIs (including a home run). Reprint of Boston Herald front page from October 28 and my ticket to the first game.
