This original final animation drawing of Little Bo Peep was created by a Columbia Studio animator in production of the animated cartoon, and a cel painting was made directly from it. Krazy Kat, the feline character from George Herriman’s famous comic strip of the same name, was the main star of Columbia cartoons of the 1930s. In this cartoon he plays a Sherlock Holmes-like detective who tracks down and rescues Bo Peep’s kidnapped sheep, Genevieve, from a Wolf. Soon after she discovers Genevieve is missing Bo Peep scurries to and fro in search of her, eventually to the ”Bureau of Missing Sheep / Krazy Kat
Detective.”
The animator wrote the studio designation ”91” at upper right to indicate this original’s place in the scene. Our certificate of authenticity is included.
The paper has mild age darkening; there is light rippling and a touch of discoloration along left edge that is well away from the centered
