Babylon

Babylon is a 3D tile-placement and strategy board game in which players become eminent architects in 6th century BCE Mesopotamia, commissioned by King Nebuchadnezzar II to construct the legendary Hanging Gardens of Babylon for his wife, Amytis of Media. The box itself represents the stone quarry from which you will extract construction materials. On each turn, players draft a Terrace tile from the central quarry, gaining a variable number of pillar pieces depending on the tile’s position. These pillars are then used to support the tile on the player’s personal board, gradually building upward from level to level. As the terraces rise, players embellish their gardens with decorative elements such as fountains, statues, galleries, bridges, and stairways. Each decoration scores victory points according to the height at which it is placed, encouraging careful optimization of both vertical construction and spatial layout. Babylon blends accessible rules with deep tactical choices, making it suitable for family play while also offering significant depth for experienced gamers. With lush, colorful artwork depicting verdant terraces, flowing water, and monumental architecture, the game aims to evoke one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World as players compete to present the most magnificent garden design and be crowned Grand Architect of the kingdom.
