Title:
Kill Shakespeare
Description:
Protect the realm from King Richard, Lady Macbeth and their dark army! Based on the acclaimed comic book from IDW Publishing, this co-op adventure brings the greatest characters of Shakespearean literature to life in a shared universe rife with peril. Players will go on quests assigned by the bard himself in an attempt to prove themselves worthy of taking over the title of Scribe of the Land.
Designed to be a ”semi-cooperative”-style board game, players unite to battle against evil forces controlled by the game itself, while still jockeying to come out as the individual leader on the scoreboard.
Kill Shakespeare? Not if we can help it! The launch title from IDW Games puts players in a shared universe populated by characters from William Shakespeare’s most famous plays. The game allows players to choose their character from the likes of Hamlet, Viola, Falstaff, Othello and Juliet in order to protect the realm from the influence of King Richard III and Lady Macbeth.
Influence is at the heart of Kill Shakespeare. Players will affect the morale and health of territories as they work to liberate them from the Machiavellian influence of the King and his sorceress ally. The heroes will have to work together to battle troops, complete quests, and ward off events that would strengthen King Richard’s hold on the lands.
What makes things more interesting is that Kill Shakespeare is a semi-cooperative experience. Players will need to work together to devote their resources to prevent Lady Macbeth and King Richard from either taking over the land or capturing the elusive bard, William Shakespeare. At the same time, they’ll need to hold back enough of their resource pool in order to complete their own quests so that their banner reigns supreme when the game ends.
Designed by the team of Thomas Vande Ginste and Wolf Plancke, Kill Shakespeare is a follow-up to the well-received and sold-out Yedo (2012). Featuring a broad range of interesting and difficult decisions, there’s richness and complexity built into this game that one would hope to see when experiencing the world of the most famous scribe in history. Game designed by Thomas Vande Ginste and Wolf Plancke.
Kill Shakespeare is an epic adventure that will change the way you look at Shakespeare forever.
In this dark tale, the Bard’s most famous heroes embark upon a journey to discover a long-lost soul. Hamlet, Juliet, Othello, Falstaff and Captain Cesario search for a reclusive wizard who may have the ability to assist them in their battle against the evil forces led by the villains Richard III, Lady Macbeth and Iago. That reclusive wizard? William Shakespeare.
In Kill Shakespeare, you and 3 of your friends will join together to free the kingdom from the clutches of the forces of Richard III. You will compete to liberate cities, remove his influence from the land and complete quests to wrest control from the vile King Richard.
You will use your own influence to grow your army and steal troop movement letters and city plans in order to liberate the cities that have been occupied by Richard and Lady Macbeth’s forces. You must be careful, however, because not all of your companions can be trusted. You must beware that the vile Iago will steal your own plans and report your troop movements to your sworn enemies.
Throughout the game you will be given quests by the likes of Puck, Shakespeare and other favorite characters from the pages of William Shakespeare’s great plays. These quests and events will weave a deep narrative created by the writers of the Kill Shakespeare comic book that bring you even deeper into the engrossing world of the award-winning comic.
While only one of the heroes can rule the day, you will need to work together to ensure that Richard doesn’t overrun the realm, that Lady Macbeth doesn’t ensnare your rebellion and that Iago doesn’t gain the knowledge of Shakespeare’s whereabouts.
In this world, your enemies have a single goal. Kill Shakespeare. It’s up to you and your friends to Battle for the Bard.
Kill Shakespeare is an area control board game from the designers of the critically acclaimed, Yedo. Players will participate in auction drafts to acquire resources in order to liberate territories from the forces of King Richard and Lady Macbeth. Resource management will be highly important as players will need to not just be working toward individual goals, if they don’t come together to defeat Richard and prevent him from finding the bard, all will be lost.
