Title:
Disney Cat Naps
Description:
AIM OF THE GAME
Think you’re the cat’s meow? Be the first feline to collect three treats and win the ultimate spot for a cat nap on the cat castle!
SETUP
• Remove the Cat Castle and Cat character cards from the deck.
• Each player picks a Cat character card. Set any leftovers aside.
• Shuffle the remaining deck and deal all the cards face down, giving an equal number of cards to each player for their draw pile. Set any leftovers aside.
Players must not look at their cards.
• The player who has most recently seen a cat goes first, and play then moves clockwise. The Cat Castle card sits in front of the starting player at the beginning of each round.
HOW TO PLAY
• On your turn, take the top card from your pile and place it face up in the centre of the table.
The next player then takes the top card from their draw pile and places it on top of the centre card, and so on.
• If both cards have the same number on them, it’s time to pounce! The first player to get their hand on the centre pile adds all the cards to the bottom of their draw pile.
• After a pounce, the Cat Castle card moves to the next player and they begin the next round.
COUNTING MEOWS
• When turning over a card, players must count from 1 to 15 meows in order, no matter what number is on the card.
• The first player starts with ”One meow”, the next player follows with ”Two meow”, and so on up to ”Fifteen meow” and then back to ”One meow”.
• If the card placed in the centre matches the number said aloud on that turn, then it’s time to pounce!
• The count restarts at ”One meow with every new round.”
ACTION CARDS
TREAT CARDS
• Any card with a treat on - whether numbered or not - is an automatic pounce! The first player to get their hand on the treat takes that card and places it face-up on their Cat character card as shown.
• You can only have a maximum of three treats in front of you at any time, so add any extras into your draw pile.
• The Double Treat card counts as two treats.
CHANGE DIRECTION CARDS
When this card is played, immediately change the direction of play. Continue in this direction until another Change Direction card is played.
PAWS UP! CARD
When this card is played, the first player to put their hand in the air gets to steal a Treat or Double Treat card from a fellow feline of their choice.
RUN OUT OF CARDS?
If your draw pile is empty, give any won Treat cards to the player with the Cat Castle. You can re-enter the game at any time by winning a pounce, so stay alert!
WINNING
The first player to have three treats and the Cat Castle card in front of them wins!
Turn over the Cat Castle card to reveal the coveted top nap spot and settle your Cat character card onto it for a well-earned snooze.
ADVANCED RULES
• When play changes direction, so does the counting.
So if you reveal the Change Direction card at ”Eight meow”, the previous player must then place a card and say ”Seven meow”. Players then count down to ”One meow” before returning to ”Fifteen meow”.
• If you have a double pounce - for instance, the numbers match and there is a treat on one of the cards- these cancel each other out and play continues as normal. Anyone who puts their hand down in error loses the round and they must give away a Treat card to the player with the Cat Castle.
