Description:
Board game: ”Kings of Air and Steam” (TMG / Tasty Minstrel Games). Steampunk/alternate-history themed economic pick-up-and-deliver and network/route-building strategy game set on the cusp of the 20th century in industrial America.
Players are rival shipping barons operating airships (which cannot land in cities) to collect goods from factories (e.g., machinery, textiles, chemicals, food, luxuries) and deliver them to depots along a rail network; trains then ship goods into cities to satisfy shifting demand and earn money. The game plays across 5 rounds. Each round, players program/plan airship movement using a hand of movement cards, then reveal and execute actions in sequence (move, then take an action such as building depots, upgrading airship/train, shipping goods by rail, soliciting funds). Includes variable player powers via multiple teams/characters and a modular board setup that changes game-to-game.
