Set at the isolated U.S. Antarctic research facility Outpost 31 during the start of the long winter. A hostile extraterrestrial lifeform infiltrates the base, creating perfect imitations of crew members.
Players take on roles from the Outpost 31 crew and must explore rooms, gather supplies and equipment, manage suspicion and paranoia, and complete investigations while trying to identify and purge the infection. Meanwhile, the infected/imitations attempt to sabotage the group and achieve their own victory conditions (e.g., escalating contagion, destroying the outpost, or escaping via helicopter).
